Saddam supporters placed under surveillance
DR Nyheder Online (Danish national television), June 6, 2005
Supporters of insurgents fighting against US-led coalition forces in
Iraq are operating in Denmark.
The Danish intelligence service has placed the so-called Committee for a Free Iraq under surveillance after it was found to have posted translations of speeches held by Saddam Hussein's second-in-command on its homepage.
The speeches call on Iraqis to kill the enemy and destabilize Iraq.
The Danish intelligence service is also investigating if the Committee for a Free Iraq is connected to Saddam Hussein's Baath Party.
Following the Iraq war, the Baath Party was banned but the illegal party is now being re-formed both in Iraq and in Europe.
